Cristian moved to Albuquerque with her husband, David, in 2004 after teaching in Waukesha, Wisconsin for 28 years. Cristina's interest and love for art has allowed her to explore and try many art mediums: weaving, beading, wire wrapping jewelry and crocheting. After she took a class to learn how to punch quilt, punch quilting became her new art passion. (Punch quilting is a 'no sew' fabric art technique that mimics quilting to create a 3-Dimensional fabric wall hanging without making a stitch). Through this art medium she is able to incorporate her creativity and color sense. Cristina also teaches punch quilting at the Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center.
Cristina's punch quilts include southwestern animals and mystical designs. She has created a series of Native American women and makes custom order designs.
Cristina has shown and sold her punch quilts fabric arts wall hangings at the Farmington Museum, the New Mexico State Fair, The Blue Portal, The Easel Place, The Wooden Cow Gallery and numerous art shows.
