Rebecca Olesen's work is landscape, utilizing acrylic paint on canvas, applied with both brushes and palette knives. Two of Olesen's techniques are glazing and stippling. She emphasizes mood, energy, and drama in her work, and seeks to capture the essence of a place in each piece. Olesen received a BA in fine art from UNM, majoring in studio art, and paints full time in her studio in Albuquerque. She participates in many juried art shows and exhibits. Rebecca grew up in Northern New Mexico, and is still inspired by the beautiful southwestern vistas.
